A Denver man has been found guilty of robbing two banks, two credit unions and a taco shop in 2023, and court records.
Flozell Beasley, 72, was convicted of four counts of bank robbery and one count of robbery affecting interstate commerce.
Beasley dressed as a construction worker and threatened employees with a replica firearm during the crimes, which took place between May and July 2023.
After robbing the Vectra Bank in Denver’s North Capitol Hill neighborhood, Beasley escaped on a bus. Twelve minutes later, police boarded the bus and arrested Beasley, who was found with the stolen money, which contained a GPS tracker, as well as a replica gun, construction vest and helmet.
“This individual is a previously convicted felon who was released from prison and returned to robbing banks and a restaurant when his chosen bank was closed,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Mark Michalek said in a news release.
