Another round of snow, slick roads and freezing temperatures is headed to Colorado this weekend, forecasters said, and more than a foot of fresh snow could stack up in the mountains.
According to , Mount Werner in northern Colorado’s Park Range of the Rocky Mountains is expected to get the most snow. The peak is forecast to see up to 13 inches of snow this weekend.
Other snow forecasts include:
- Between 1 and 5 inches in downtown Denver, Aurora, Brighton, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Northglenn, Parker and at Denver International Airport;
- Between 2 and 6 inches in Arvada, Broomfield, Golden and Lakewood;
- Between 7 and 12 inches in Rocky Mountain National Park, including along Cameron Pass, Iceberg Pass and Trail Ridge Road;
- Between 5 and 10 inches in southern Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, including Gravel Mountian;
- Between 1 and 7 inches in popular ski areas, including Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park and Copper Mountain;
- Between 0 and 3 inches on the Eastern Plains, including Limon, Fort Morgan and Craig.
Snow is forecast to start Friday evening in the mountains and reach metro Denver by 11 p.m., . The bulk of the snow will fall Saturday morning before the storm dwindles in the afternoon and dissipates overnight.
