According to 9News, a at 14400 E. Colfax Ave. announced the closure of all Colorado locations — but at least one store in Grand Junction was still open and serving customers Thursday afternoon.

In an email Thursday night, a company spokesperson confirmed all Denver and Colorado Springs Del Tacos are temporarily closed and will reopen as soon as possible. The email did not specify why the locations were closed.

The Grand Junction location is owned and operated by a different franchisee and is still open for business.

Lochbuie resident Mike Spivey pulled into the drive-through at a closed Del Taco location on 104th Avenue near Tower Road in Commerce City on Thursday afternoon, only to be met with silence when he tried to place his order. Before driving off, he said he was disappointed that Del Taco had closed the location, which he visited often because it was one of the few dining options close to where he worked. “I prefer Del Taco to Taco Bell. It was quick and convenient, the food tasted better, and you got a lot for your money,” he said.

Del Taco operated 19 locations across the state, including in Aurora, Brighton, Castle Rock, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Commerce City, Denver, Englewood, Firestone, Grand Junction, Greeley, Lakewood, Lone Tree and Parker.
