A man killed himself Feb. 28 after fatally shooting a woman in the parking lot of a Monument King Soopers,

Witnesses called 911 at around 12:20 p.m. after a man walked up to a vehicle in the parking lot and opened fire, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kurt Smith said in a briefing.

Monument police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the store at 1070 W. Baptist Road and found the woman dead in the vehicle.
