One man was arrested Sunday after a fatal Saturday night shooting in the University of Denver’s neighborhood, according to the police department.
Denver officers responded Saturday night to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of , near where it intersects with Cornell Avenue, according to an 11:39 p.m. from the police department.
The area is less than a mile south of the University of Denver’s campus.
Police said one person, who has not been publicly identified, was shot and died from their injuries at the scene.
Investigators believe the victim and the man arrested Sunday knew each other but didn’t say how, according to an from the police department. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
