
Wheat Ridge police are seeking information about the identity of a man whose north of Clear Creek last year, the agency said Thursday.
A man was exploring a in December when he came across the abandoned camp, the police department said in a post on X.
The human remains he discovered likely belong to a man who was between 45 and 75 years old and died between 2021 and 2023, according to an analysis from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office worked with a forensic sculptor to create a reconstruction of the man’s face based off the remains.
“This is a person who may have had family or friends that deserve closure,” police officials said.
Police do not believe the man’s death was suspicious.
