Police are investigating after two people were shot to death Wednesday night in Brighton.

Brighton officers found two bodies in an alley behind a home in the 100 block of North Seventh Avenue at about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, the police department said in a .

Both people, who have not been publicly identified, had been shot, police said.

Witnesses told officers that they heard multiple gunshots before a dark-colored sedan fled the area, according to the news release.

As of Thursday morning, no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will publicly identify the victims at a later date.
