A black bear spotted roaming across metro Denver was and relocated to a more bear-friendly habitat, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The bear was seen in Lone Tree and in the backyard of an Arapahoe County home before an Aurora resident saw it near the 27500 block of East Elmhurst Place on Saturday, sheriff’s officials said.
Police and fire crews responded alongside Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials, who tranquilized the bear with a dart.
A video shared by the sheriff’s office shows the bear lumbering near an Aurora home before cutting to a CPW official rolling the conked-out creature onto a tarp for transport to a better habitat.
