Pedestrian dies two days after crash near Denver’s City Park

The pedestrian was hit by a motorist near the intersection of E. 17th Avenue and Milwaukee Street

Denver police announced Friday afternoon that a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in central Denver had died.

At 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, police reported they were investigating a crash at E. 17th Avenue and Milwaukee Street on the edge of City Park that resulted in “serious injuries” to a pedestrian.

At about 2:30 p.m. Friday, the department announced the pedestrian had died and the driver was cited for “careless driving resulting in death.”

Police didn’t include any identifying information about the driver or the victim, including either’s age or gender.
