As reality TV show “Love is Blind” prepares to air its Denver-based season, fans are getting a sneak peek of the local singles searching for their happily ever after.

On Wednesday, Netflix announced the cast of its upcoming ninth season, which debuts Oct. 1. The 30-plus hopeful romantics spotlighted include Kait, a 32-year-old dietitian with an ick for gamers; Annie, a self-described small town girl living in the big city; Jordan, a 30-year-old service manager who eats chicken breast blended with lemonade MiO for breakfast; and Edmond, a 29-year-old realtor who admits to eating his boogers. What a selection.

As the name suggests, “Love is Blind” is a dating show in which singles essentially speed date while sitting in so-called “pods” separated by a wall. They have no idea what the person they are talking to looks like. After about a week to 10 days of filming, they can choose to get engaged and see their partner for the first time.

Thatap right – the only way to get a visual of the person they may be marrying is to put a ring on it sight unseen. The goal is to build an emotional connection so deep that looks don’t matter.

The couples then have four weeks until their wedding day, during which time they will go on a beach vacation, move in together and meet each other’s friends and families. They decide at the altar whether to stay together or break it off.

While the cast announced this week includes 32 people, the show usually only follows about 10 from the pods down the aisle.

The Denver cast started filming in February 2024, so once the season debuts, participants will have had more than a year off camera to try and potentially see their relationship through. Each season includes a live reunion following the season finale, so viewers can catch up with the couples and, importantly, see who’s still kicking.
