Denver police are looking for a dark-colored SUV whose driver is suspected of striking and killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash on the east side of town early Monday morning.

The suspect vehicle may have “minor to moderate damage” to its bumper on the front passenger side, Denver police said in .

Officers shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, saying the pedestrian was struck in the area of East Colfax Avenue and Trenton Street in Denver. In the update, the police said the collision occurred at 12:12 a.m. with the suspect vehicle traveling east on Colfax and the pedestrian crossing the road from north to south.

The victim, identified by the as 34-year-old Tashay Harlan, died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
