Suspect in deadly west Aurora parking lot shooting arrested in Utah

A man suspected of fatally shooting a woman in a west Aurora parking lot this week was arrested Thursday by federal agents in small Utah town.

Eric Douglas, 32, was wanted on suspicion of murder in a shooting in a parking lot at 1205 S. Havana St. on Tuesday night.

Police officers who responded  found a woman with a gunshot wound. She died after she was taken to a hospital, according to Aurora police.

Douglas was arrested in Sigurd, Utah, on suspicion of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender by the agents with the Salt Lake City FBI field office and U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.

Douglas is in custody at the Sevier County, Utah, jail awaiting extradition to Colorado, Aurora police said in a news release.
