A 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Aurora’s Highline Villages neighborhood late Friday, police said.

Aurora police officers were called to 22 Lima St. just before 11 p.m. to reports of a shooting with one victim, the agency said in a news release Saturday.

Officers found the boy with gunshot wounds and started lifesaving measures. The boy died after he was taken to a hospital.

Investigators believe the teen and an unidentified suspect walked toward each other from opposite sides of Lima Street and began talking, which escalated into an argument and shooting.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been arrested, Aurora police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
