State troopers were searching Tuesday for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run after a man’s body was found in a Jefferson County median over the weekend, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The man’s body was found near the intersection of Evergreen Parkway and Kerr Gulch Road, roughly 6 miles west of Genesee, just after 3 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the state patrol. The 67-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, was walking along the road Saturday evening and started to cross traffic when he was hit, officials said.
Investigators believe the man was hit between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Saturday by an unknown car, the release stated. The car likely has front-end damage, which may include the windshield.
“Investigators are also seeking information on a vehicle of interest,” state patrol officials stated in the release. “Troopers would like to speak with the driver of a white sedan, possibly manufactured around 2010, who was also traveling eastbound on (Evergreen Parkway) during this timeframe.”
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact dispatchers at 303-239-4501 and reference case number VC260080.
