
Timed-entry reservations for the Pikes Peak Highway went on sale Wednesday and tickets for the shuttle buses that operate during peak season will go on sale Friday.
From May 22 through Sept. 30, reservations will be required for travel past Mile 7 on the 19-mile route to the mountain’s 14,115-foot summit. Reservations assign arrival window times at the Gateway entrance to the highway near Cascade and cost $2. Visitors also must purchase admission priced at $18 for adults and $8 for children.

Shuttle service also begins on May 22. Riders will park at Mile 7 to board buses with stops at Glen Cove (Mile 13), Devil’s Playground (Mile 16) and the summit. Shuttles depart every 30 minutes or so. Tickets were supposed to go on sale Wednesday, but because of a website glitch, they will go on sale Friday.
Shuttle prices are $40 for adults, $12 for children ages 6-15. There is no charge for children 5 and under. All shuttles are ADA accessible and are equipped with bike racks.
“The timed-entry system and shuttle service help ensure visitors have a smoother, more enjoyable experience from the Gateway to the summit,” said Pikes Peak — America’s Mountain manager Skyler Rorabaugh in a news release. “We encourage visitors to plan ahead and purchase tickets early to secure their preferred date and time.”
