A former Jefferson County school social worker will serve three years in community corrections and register as a sex offender for life after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child.
Chloe Rose Castro, 29, pleaded guilty in February to sexually assaulting a child younger than 15 while in a “position of trust.” She will also spend at least 20 years on intensive supervised probation and pay $14,430 in restitution.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dismissed a second child sexual assault charge and a charge related to using the internet to lure a child.
Arvada police arrested Castro in November 2024 after the unnamed victim’s parents found social media messages pointing to a sexual relationship. According to the arrest affidavit, Castro exchanged nude photos with the boy and met him on multiple occasions.
No other victims have come forward, according to a news release from the First Judicial District Attorney’s office.
