Denver police arrested a man last week after he left “suspicious notes” soliciting prostitution on Northfield High School students’ cars, according to the department.
The man, who the Denver Police Department declined to identify “due to concerns about the possible impact of pre-trial publicity,” is under investigation for two charges of soliciting child prostitution and one charge of attempted sexual assault, according to a . The unidentified man was arrested on March 30, police said.

Several students found notes on their cars in a Target parking lot in the Northfield area, which were reported to Denver investigators in March, police said. The notes contained instructions to contact an unspecified person through an encrypted email address, according to the news release. Those details released by police match information from McCoy’s arrest affidavit.
“I’ve got a 1.75L bottle for some decent mouth work,” McCoy messaged one undercover detective who reached out to the email pretending to be a 15-year-old girl, according to the affidavit. Mouth work refers to oral sex, police stated in the affidavit.
“It is believed that other young people may have been similarly contacted or approached, and anyone with information about other possible victims is asked to call the Denver Police Human Trafficking Unit tipline at 720-913-6060,” police stated in the release.
McCoy was previously convicted of attempted child sexual assault in February 2009 in Jefferson County.
As of Tuesday afternoon, his name did not appear on Colorado’s sex offender registry.
