
Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for 12 hours northwest of Denver on Saturday after a rollover crash killed an 18-year-old and sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries, Wheat Ridge police said.
just before 3 p.m. Saturday, hours after the early-morning crash involving a semi-truck and four other vehicles, according to the police department.
Officers responded to the fatal crash between Ward Road and Kipling Street at 2:40 a.m., police said. An 18-year-old man was killed in the crash, and three people were taken to the hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening, police spokesperson Alex Rose said.
The man killed in the crash will be identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The crash is under investigation, and additional details about what caused the crash were not available Sunday, Rose said.
