Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for 12 hours in west metro Denver on Saturday after a rollover crash killed an 18-year-old and sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries, Wheat Ridge police said.

reopened just before 3 p.m. after the early-morning crash involving a semi-truck and four other vehicles, department officials said in a post on X.

Officers responded to the crash at 2:40 a.m. between Ward Road and Kipling Street. An 18-year-old man was killed in the crash and three people were taken to the hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening, police spokesperson Alex Rose said.

The crash is under investigation, and additional details about what caused the crash were not available Saturday, Rose said.
