Alcohol may have been a factor in an , Colorado State Patrol troopers report.
Troopers found open and unopened alcoholic beverages in the Chevrolet that was going westbound on Weld County Road 80 near Ault when it rolled several times on Saturday, according to a Colorado State Patrol news release. The driver and four passengers were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
While troopers confirmed that speed and impairment are factors in the crash, the cause of the crash is undetermined.
Cash Allen Rinker, 20, and Jack David Dirksen, 19, both of Eaton, and Cooper Christopher Nider, 19, of Greeley, died at the scene, according to a Weld County Coroner news release.
The 20-year-old male driver is in critical condition, and a 19-year-old male passenger has minor injuries.
