Edgy Denver fotog Pamela Mougin is moving to London this week – and Denver gave her a fine fare-thee-well. She was robbed Tuesday night, the day after this column announced her pending departure. Someone broke into her LoDo studio and took more than $70,000 worth of equipment, including her prized new digital Hasselblad. Bummer.
“I still have all my images,” says Mougin. “And it was insured. But it took us a day just to figure out what was taken.”
Mougin planned to continue with the sale of her artsy photos through the weekend. Then it’s off to her new life. Wazee Street will never be the same.
Horse sense
Boo Boo and Tornado are in love, says Fox radio’s Michael Floorwax.
Boo Boo is Floorwax’s horse, featured on the cover of Xposure magazine this month with Floorwax and his sidekick Rick Lewis with his horse Gunsmoke.
Boo Boo is stabled in Conifer at Diamond Sky Ranch. Tornado is also there, and he’s the star of “Legend of Zorro,” the sequel to “The Mask of Zorro”, due this fall with Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Apparently Tornado, whose real name is Dude, is one trick pony. He can do dozens of tricks on demand, but the trainers won’t give out the secret commands until the movie has been released.
Says Diamond Sky boss Spud Whitman, “They don’t want me going around town showing off what this horse can do.”
So Tornado isn’t doing any tricks. Yet. He must be bored after being a movie star. Maybe that’s why he loves Boo Boo.
The best revenge!
“Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” opens nationwide May 19, but you can see it May 12 and be the coolest kid on the block. It’ll cost you, though.
The Colorado Children’s Campaign benefits from this Colorado premiere at the Continental – and it’s getting $250 a ticket, children under 17 are only $125. You get a pre-
party with “Star Wars” characters, a band, food, wine, beer, soda – and free popcorn! Plus the movie, of course.
The movie has not yet been rated, but director George Lucas told a reporter, “My feeling is it will probably be a big PG-13, so it will be the first ‘Star Wars’ that’s a PG-13. I would take a 9- or a 10-year-old to it – or an 11. But I don’t think I would take a 5- or 6-year-old to this. It’s way too strong.”
But if you’re with a parent, no matter what your age, you can go to the benefit screening. Check it out at www.coloradokids.org.
