What’s it do? Bite you on the bum? There’s no Monty Python fan in the world who wouldn’t lift a toast the masters of off-the-wall British humor.

The reruns are still around on BBC America, so why not open a Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale and watch Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin cavort?

First brewed in 1999 for the 30th anniversary of the famed pack of comedic loonies, Holy Grail Ale lives on as the idol of beer drinkers everywhere. Its name comes from the title of the 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

Brewed by Black Sheep Brewery in the brewing-rich region of Yorkshire, England, Holy Grail is much more than just a cute name and label.

A deep golden color gives way to a full aroma with a touch of alcohol overtones. The flavor is not overpowering but lingers with a strong hop finish.

Holy Grail Ale is available at larger retail outlets. Find it at www.eurobrews.com.
