Garden of sculptures
A 27-acre sculpture garden featuring world-renowned Zimbabwean art is planned for Centerra, a burgeoning neighborhood in Loveland. Several stone sculptures providing a glimpse at ancient African culture will be scattered throughout the garden, scheduled to open in August 2006. Loveland officials dedicated two Zimbabwean sculptures in other parts of the city last week: “Entranced by the Mbira,” at Fourth and Adams streets, and “The End of Hope,” at the Loveland Civic Center. More than 1.5 million square feet of retail, office and medical space is being built at Centerra, a 3,000-acre development at Interstate 25 and U.S. 34. It also will include 5,100 homes and a 103-room Residence Inn expected to break ground next month.
