Westminster – A wanted man is in police custody after an all-night standoff at a motel in Westminster.
The events started at 8 p.m. Monday, when a bondsman called police saying he found a suspect at La Quinta Inn at 88th and Sheridan.
The suspect had taken two women as hostages in one of the motel’s rooms.
Twenty-five of the rooms at the motel were evacuated during the standoff, which lasted until after 5 a.m. today
Around 5:22 a.m. the suspect fired shots from the hotel.
A police SWAT team responded by storming the room and taking the man into custody. The two hostages were not injured.
Police say the man was wanted on two warrants for alleged crimes involving drugs, weapons, forgery, arson and burglary.
