Out and about: What do you say to a panda? We were a group of 14 people from around the country who experienced three weeks in China and Tibet through Overseas Adventure Travel. So much in China is fascinating and educational, but sharing a bench with a giant panda is still the highlight. Panda Adventure in Chengdu is a beautiful 72-acre home to 40 pandas (also called Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding) in a bamboo forest. It’s wonderful to see so many of these beautiful animals in one place.

Travel tip: Be sure to save some souvenir dollars. For a $50 donation to the center you can sit with a panda. We also joined a group of young schoolchildren and their teachers for a photo together. Wherever we went in China people were happy to smile and have their picture taken.
