The trees in Park Hill: I especially love the trees that create a green canopy down 17th Avenue between Monaco Parkway and Colorado Boulevard. I am originally from New Jersey, so I love the lush suburban vibe of the Park Hill community. It’s my own little piece of the Garden State in the Mile High City.

Salmon and asparagus wraps at The 9th Door in LoDo: This is definitely a place to be seen on any night of the week. The authentic Spanish Tapas bar is chic, affordable and fabulous! Tuesday night’s paella and $5 wine flights are divine.

BCBG at the Colorado Mills Mall: Hands down, this is the best place to purchase affordable couture fashions. It allows me to pick up unique quality designs with big-city flavor without having to buy a plane ticket. When Express and Forever 21 are the styles everyone else is sporting, it’s refreshing to be individually fly.

Fresh okra at Spinelli’s Market: This is the most authentic Italian corner market ever. When in season, this is the only place where I can find fresh okra and homemade tiramisu in the same place.

Cafe Nuba’s “It’s Hot and It’s Black” monthly spoken word set: The last Friday of every month inside Blackberries Ice Cream & Coffee Lounge is my time to decompress. As the emcee and host of the show, it’s my place to go and release all of my thoughts, feelings, ideas and opinions on a mic to a room full of eager recipients of this thing we call Spoken Word.
