Telluride hot-air balloon rally
At sunrise the skies above Town Park in Telluride and Telluride Valley will fill with hot-air balloons at the annual Balloon Rally Friday-June 5. At dusk on Saturday night, the balloons move to Main Street for the Balloon Glow. All events are dependent on the weather and are free of charge. For information, call 888-783-0257.
Open house at guest ranch
C Lazy U Guest Ranch in Granby will host an open house for Denver-area residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 5. All events and activities are free and open to the public for the first 100 people who RSVP. Free fly-fishing clinics
Gore Creek FlyFisherman is offering free fly-casting clinics at 10:30 a.m. daily from its shop on the banks of Gore Creek. Clinics are available through Labor Day weekend. The staff offers free advice on flies, water conditions, stream approaches and fishing spots. It also offers guided float and wade trips on the Colorado, Eagle and Roaring Fork Rivers. Free packing demonstrations
The Container Store, 8687 Park Meadows Center Drive, is offering free “Perfect Packing” demonstrations for travelers at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July 3. Reservations are not required for the workshops. Information at 303-768-8000.
