Alice Cooper with Cheap Trick; Steppenwolf with Blue Oyster Cult; and .38 Special with Bret Michaels appear in concert at this fall’s Thunder in the Rockies, a motorcycle expo at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland. Steppenwolf plays on Sept. 1, Michaels on Sept. 2 and Cooper on Sept. 4. Tickets are sale ($25- $50, 877-544-8499).

“The Phantom of the Opera” is one of the most popular musicals of all time, having earned more than $3 billion since its debut in London on Oct. 9, 1986. It is coming back to Denver for a five- week run, Nov. 2-Dec. 4, at the Buell Theatre. Tickets are on sale ($15-$70, TicketsWest).

The Killers have been picked to headline Channel 93.3’s NEXTFEST. Other bands, chosen as acts to watch in 2005 by KTCL 93.3-FM listeners, will be announced later. The concert is scheduled for Aug. 12 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($33.50, Ticketmaster).

Lonestar, one of contemporary country’s most popular bands, decided to bring a whole slew of talent along for its visit to Denver this summer. Supporting acts are Hot Apple Pie, Amber Dotson, Keith Anderson, Blaine Larsen, Hanna-McEuen and Blue Country. They all appear July 3 at Coors Amphitheatre. Tickets are on sale. ($9.85- $43.50, Ticketmaster).
