Young society types are riding the range outside of Steamboat Springs – for a reality TV show titled “Cattle Call.” Rich kids leave clubland for a Colorado cattle drive. Oh give me a home where my cellphone won’t roam.
“It’s ‘City Slickers’ for celebrity kids,” says E! Network’s veep of development Ann Lewis. “It plays right into the sweet spot of our audience. Folks who are wealthy, fish out of water.”
The cast is headed by Fabian Basabe, the NYC-based Ecuadorian “it boy” best known for dirty dancing with first daughter Barbara Bush. He’s been described as a male Paris Hilton with clothes on. Also on set: Alex Quinn (son of actor Aidan Quinn), Brittny Gastineau (way-hot daughter of former New York Jet Mark Gastineau), Shauna Ferrigno (daughter of actor/body builder Lou Ferrigno), Noah Blake (son of recently acquitted actor Robert Blake), Haley Benatar (daughter of rocker Pat Benatar) and one of the George Foremans.
“We hope to end with a big finale in town on July 4,” says Lewis. “But we don’t know if the kids are going to get there. Riding a horse all day for 18 days is very hard. Cattle can be scary.”
The series will air starting Aug. 7 on E! television.
Eyes wide shut down
Denver party-boy Kevin Larson threw an “Eyes Wide Shut” party at a private mansion in Morrison a few weeks ago that shut down way too early.
Seems Larson had signed papers to rent the swank residence for the night – but the guy he rented it from was the caretaker, not the owner. Limos started arriving to unload singles in tuxedos and skimpy dresses – and the local authorities moved in. When Larson discovered he had a bogus contract on his hands, he pulled the plug at 10:30 p.m.
“And we refunded peoples’ money,” he says, losing a boatload. The cover for the sexy ball was $75 for women, $150 for men. More than 100 people were there, along with a band. It was BYO.
Sounds to me like there could be a little more to it. But Larson says no, no, no. No live sex. No nudity. It was not a swingers’ gathering, he says, just a “high end” party with a “sexy vibe” and “‘Eyes Wide Shut’ thrown in.”
“And we didn’t want this in the paper,” he said. “It was under the radar.”
