Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.9 percent in June from 5.3 percent in May, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment reported Friday.

Employers in the state added 28,400 nonfarm jobs between May and June, with 16,300 coming in the leisure and hospitality industry as summer hiring for the tourist season hit full swing.

Professional and business services rose by a larger than expected 6,000 positions, while construction firms added 5,200 positions.

Every industry sector added jobs except government, which lost 7,700 positions as teachers went off school payrolls for summer break.
