“Enchanted” was a fitting song for Stevie Nicks to use an opener for her recent Red Rocks show because the audience fell under the spell of the longtime rocker long before the concert even began. Like in 1985, when Nicks was filmed performing at the legendary amphitheater. “I stood here 20 years ago, and that film is still the one that I’m most proud of,” she told fans.
In their flowing dresses, fringed scarves and tambourines trailing streamers, women channeling the rock superstar bounded up the steep stairs of the amphitheater. On first glance it looked like women outnumbered the guys, but plenty of male fans were there to gaze admiringly at the flaxen-haired woman swaying onstage as she sang hits like “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” and “Dreams.”
