The list of celebrities joining relief efforts for residents affected by Hurricane Katrina continues to grow. Movie stars Julia Roberts and John Travolta hit storm- and flood-ravaged areas to distribute supplies. Sean Penn pulled victims from floodwaters in a borrowed boat. Green Day, R.E.M., Pearl Jam and the Beastie Boys are helping to find housing for survivors.

From benefit concerts to million-dollar donations, the entertainment world is pitching in: Rosie O’Donnell. She has donated $3 million to be spread over the next three years to provide emergency child care.

Sandra Bullock. The actress is working with residents of Austin, Texas, the American Red Cross and the nonprofit organizations Katrina Help Austin and Mobile Loaves and Fishes to bring supplies and provide transportation for evacuees.

Naomi Campbell. The supermodel is donating her fees from New York’s Fashion Week, which kicks off Friday, to the Red Cross. Campbell, who is expected to be in a half-dozen shows, charges up to $50,000 per appearance.

Kevin Smith. Among items the filmmaker is auctioning on his website, viewaskew.com, to benefit the Red Cross: a dinner at his home and a bit part in his new film, “Clerks 2: The Passion of the Clerks.”

Steve Harvey. The comedian will host the Saving Lives with Laughs benefit on Wednesday in Inglewood, Calif.

David Banner. The Mississippi rapper’s foundation, Heal the Hood, will hold a Sept. 17 benefit concert in Atlanta with rappers T.I., Nelly and Twista.

Barry Manilow. The singer will match every dollar donated through the Manilow Fund for Health and Hope, with the fund adding a dollar, turning $1 into $3.
