Englewood – Seven people were taken to hospitals as a precaution today after chlorine fumes escaped a machine at the publishing plant where they worked, authorities said.
South Metro Fire Rescue spokesman Andy Lyon said none of the people appeared to have life-threatening symptoms from inhaling chlorine at a plant operated by Jeppesen Sanderson Inc., which produces aviation navigation charts and other aviation products.
Lyon said there appeared to have been a problem with a film processing machine, and seven workers reported nausea and shortness of breath after they tried to flush the machine with a chlorine solution.
Company spokesman Eric Anderson did not immediately return a call.
