Mammoth signs defenseman Catton
The Colorado Mammoth signed defenseman Rich Catton to a two-year contract Tuesday. Catton, 34, is a veteran of six National Lacrosse League seasons.
Two CU prospects going elsewhere
Othello Hunter and George Odufuwa, forwards recruited by the Colorado men’s basketball program, have decided to go elsewhere. Hunter, from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fla., orally committed to Ohio State, and Odufuwa, of Cedar Hill, Texas, chose Arizona State.
Hoeper leads DU to golf title
Junior Emily Hoeper won the individual title and led the University of Denver to the team title at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Club.
Hoeper claimed her second career win with a final- round 71 and a 4-under-par 212 total, five strokes better than Laura Mengelkamp of Wyoming.
Chase Wortmann of CU-Colorado Springs fired a final-round 67 to finish at 8-under 205 and win the men’s title at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships at Cattails Golf Club in Alamosa.
Shelby White of Fort Hays State won the women’s title with a 13-over 157, four strokes better than Kami Hehn of Nebraska-Kearney.
Nebraska-Kearney won the women’s team title with a 676 total, seven strokes better than Fort Hays State.
CU-Colorado Springs won the men’s team title with an 857 total, 12 strokes better than Regis.
