This Warholian party tonight at The Walnut Room marks the debut of “Rising Up!,” a monthly showcase of underground art, music and fashion. Tonight includes a rare rockumentary screening, the local debut of one-man band Android Assassin, the soul-jazz group Cocktail Revolution and mod prints by Amy Flomberg. 3131 Walnut St. 7 p.m. $5-$7.

Not to be confused with the blues-rock band of the same name, these reggae players headline Kilimanjaro, 2648 S. Parker Road, Aurora, at 9 tonight. $5.

FLOBOTS

This collective of Denver emcees, musicians and artists morphed into a live hip-hop band tailored after the likes of Outkast and The Roots. The group releases its second CD Saturday at Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern, 314 E. 13th. With Bop Skizzum. 9 p.m. $7-$8.

ROCKET AJAX

Alt-metal-heads who craft songs with titles like “Umbillical” play a reunion Saturday with Anava, The Transit War and Deave. Herman’s Hideaway, 1578 S. Broadway. 8 p.m. $5.

SINGER-SONGWRITER DAY

The Colorado Music Association teams with Swallow Hill today to host a mini-festival highlighting singer-songwriters. Includes workshops and performances by Pierce Pettis, Erica Wheeler, Claudia Schmidt, Celeste Krenz, Carla Sciaky and various industry gurus. Noon-4 p.m. 71 E.
