Fiona Apple last week released her first album in six years, “Extraordinary Machine.” This week she announced that in November she will return to the road for first time in five years. The tour brings the singer-songwriter to the Paramount Theatre on Dec. 2. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($30-$40, Ticketmaster).

Bob Weir made musical news recently when it was announced that he would play at Merle- Fest next year for the first time. But the bigger news locally is that Weir and his band, Ratdog, will play the Fillmore Auditorium on Dec. 2. Tickets are on sale ($30-$35, Ticketmaster).

INXS fans get their first chance to meet the group’s new lead singer, J.D. Fortune, in January when INXS launches the North American leg of its world tour. Fortune landed in front of INXS after winning the CBS reality show “Rock Star: INXS.” “Rock Star” runner-up Marty Casey and his band the Lovehammers join the tour as the opening act. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($35-$65, Ticketmaster).

Kanye West kicked off his U.S. tour with a show Tuesday in Coral Gables, Fla. It reaped rave reviews, including one from Robert Hilburn of the Los Angles Times. Hilburn wrote, “This is not only the hip-hop tour of the year – it is one of the most inspiring ever.” West displays that inspiration at the Lecture Hall at the Colorado Convention Center on Nov. 29. Former “American Idol” winner R&B singer Fantasia opens. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($39.50-$49.50, Ticketmaster).
