Nuggets forward Nene said he was sore a day after taking a knee to his right thigh Friday against the Utah Jazz, but said he would be fine for Tuesday’s season opener at San Antonio.

Notes

A few interesting names have hit the waiver wire, including former Nuggets small forward Rodney White, who was released by the Los Angeles Clippers, and ex-New Orleans Hornet George Lynch, who, like Denver coach George Karl, is a North Carolina alum. But it appears the Nuggets will stand pat. … Karl joked with rookie Linas Kleiza before Friday’s game about an undisclosed team making a trade request for him. “Rook must be having a good year,” Karl said. “Someone called wanting to trade for him. I’ve got to make his life miserable before I trade him.” Kleiza responded: “(Phoenix) wanted me for Amare Stoudemire.”
