Prince Harry will have to fight off a barrage of potatoes as part of his training at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy, according to media reports.

The potatoes will simulate rocks being thrown during a military peacekeeping exercise. Lt. Col. Roy Parkinson admitted: “If they don’t keep their shields up they can end up with some nasty bruises. We are simulating a situation that troops have to deal with in Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan. It is a real test of nerve and strength of character.”

A Los Angeles couple is trying to market a wine called “Jesus Juice,” bearing a Michael Jackson-like figure appearing to be crucified on the label. The merlot was developed by actress Dawn Westlake and Bruce Rheins, a veteran CBS Evening News producer, according to thesmokinggun

.com. The couple filed a trademark on the name in January 2004, two months after Jackson was arrested on child molestation charges. Jackson, acquitted of those charges, used the term to refer to wine he allegedly gave minors.

Kate Hudson has sued five British publications over photographs and captions that she said inaccurately claim the actress had an eating disorder. Suits were filed against the Daily Mail newspaper, the National Enquirer, Heat, Closer and Star magazine, according to BBCnews.com.

The “Soup Nazi” is expanding. Al Yeganeh, better known for that odd moniker and the line “No soup for you!” from “Seinfeld,” has lent his name and recipes to a chain of soup stores in New York, the Daily News reported.

Yeganeh closed his original store on West 55th Street in 2004. On Nov. 2, the Original Soup Man store opened on East 42nd Street near Fifth Avenue. The inaugural restaurant opened in Princeton, N.J., last month. At the opening, Soup Man president Bob Bertrand presented a $5,000 check to Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, spokesman for food charity City Harvest.

Speaking of soup: Bruce Springsteen slurped down two bowls of chicken noodle at The Diner on 14th Street and Ninth Avenue last week and left a $100 tip, the New York Post reported.

Jake Gyllenhaal has back-burner career

If his latest film, “Jarhead,” bombs
at the box office, Jake Gyllenhaal has a
backup job: cooking. Gyllenhaal, 24,
regularly works in the New York
kitchen at Babbo, owned by celebrity
chef Mario Batali. “(Gyllenhaal) does
prep work in the kitchen, that’s how
he unwinds,” a Babbo staffer told Star
magazine. “Mario is giving him
cooking lessons.”
