Getting your player ready...
Most ski areas make a lot of noise when they open for the season, throwing parties and such to celebrate the sad, single braid of white that is early November resort skiing. Keystone takes its party to the festival level by offering round-the-clock skiing on its ribbon with a 36-hour skiathon that ends with a prize of $3,600. A shot at the $3,600 requires two, three or four-person teams to ski around the clock for 36 hours. One competitor from each team must ski at least once every hour between 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 and 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Team entry is $36 per person and Keystone is offering teams deals that include lodging. But don’t plan on sleeping too much.
