Getting your player ready...

Former Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards midfielder Jarred Testa will be introduced Thursday as coach of the Denver Outlaws, a Major League Lacrosse expansion team that begins play in May 2006.

“He’s a guy you want on your side,” said Testa’s former college teammate Blake Miller, a member of the Lizards who also plays for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. “He brings a lot of intensity as a player. I can’t see him not bringing that as a coach.”

Testa, 29, played for the Bayhawks from 2001-03 and helped them win the 2002 MLL title. He was an All-America player at Hofstra. As a coach, Testa has been an assistant at the Merchant Marine Academy and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
