The University of Northern Colorado women’s basketball team scored its largest margin of victory in nearly 30 years Sunday. The Bears beat Cal State-Fullerton 88-64 at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion in Greeley, its largest win over a Division I team since 1976.

Jena Fosdick scored a game-high 26 points and eight rebounds, tying her career best. Heather Barbour scored 21, also a career high. UNC (1-1) shot 51 percent from the field, its best mark since Dec. 6, 2003.

Nebraska Wesleyan women down CC

The Nebraska Wesleyan women’s basketball team trailed Colorado College 40-26 at halftime, but came back to defeat the Tigers 74-68 in the Division III Tip-Off Classic at Reid Gymnasium in Colorado Springs.

CC, Nebraska Wesleyan and Wisconsin Whitewater all finished at 1-1 in the tournament. Wesleyan’s Devan Aschtgen scored 15 of her game-high 19 points in the second half. The Tigers were led by Paige Whitney, Liz Kolbe and Melanie Auguste, who each scored 15. Auguste was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
