A police source says that fake ID cards were found in the home of Aaroné Thompson.

Police obtained a warrant and searched the home Nov. 17 after the hunt for the missing 6-year-old girl was declared a homicide investigation.

Police found, among other things, fake driver’s licenses and identification for Shelley Lowe, the live-in girlfriend of Aaron Thompson, Aaroné’s father.

Aaroné was reported missing Nov. 14 by her father. Police searched for more than 48 hours before receiving a tip that made them believe Aaroné had been killed. Police seized the home for a search, and the seven other children in the home were put into protective custody.

Police dubbed Thompson and Lowe people of interest they would like to interview about inconsistencies in their statements and the facts of the case.

One inconsistency involves Lowe, whose name has changed several times. In Michigan records, she is Shelley Marie Lowe. In Colorado, Shely Mary Lowe. Records show she has used the same Social Security number as a 60-year-old Naples, Fla., woman.

The family has said they believe police are unfairly targeting the couple and have given up the possibility that Aaroné may be alive.

Deputy Police Chief Terry Jones would not substantiate the reports Monday about anything that investigators removed from the house. He added that police are focusing on the homicide investigation and that anything else that could lead to a criminal charge could be used later.

“If we come up with pieces, they’re not going to be neglected,” he said. “We will have that in our back pocket. But we’re not ready to pull it out. … We don’t want to cloud the (homicide) investigation.”

He added that, hypothetically, if something illegal was found in the search, “we will not file charges on that until we conclude the homicide investigation or until we have exhausted every possible angle.”
