Stanford, Calif. – Stanford ended a three-game losing streak with a 71-49 victory over Denver.
Matt Haryasz scored 24 points Dan Grunfeld added 19 points for Stanford, as the Cardinal (3-4) avoided the worst start since beginning 2-5 in 1979-80.
David Kummer led Denver with 12 points and Yemi Nicholson had 10 points. DU (5-4) had 20 turnovers on the way to its third straight loss.
Utah 68, Adams State 51
Salt Lake City – Bryant Markson scored 12 points to lead Utah (6-3) past Adams State.
Wes Jensen made five 3- pointers en route to a career- high 17 points to lead the Grizzlies (5-4). Richard Mincey of Colorado Springs added a season-high 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field.
Northern Arizona 63, Northern Colorado 52
Flagstaff, Ariz. – Ruben Boykin Jr. had 13 points and 12 rebounds as Northern Arizona (5-5) beat winless Northern Colorado.
The Bears set a school record with 13 straight losses to start the season and have lost 15 straight dating to Feb. 22, 2005. The 1944-45 team held the previous mark of 12 losses in a row to open a season.
UNC was paced by Thanasi Panagiotakapoulos’ 19 points.
Northwest Nazarene 96, Colorado College 57
Colorado Springs – Colorado College (2-7) dropped its fifth consecutive game, losing to Northwest Nazarene.
The Crusaders (6-2) had four players in double figures, led by senior forward Travis Fridrich with a game-high 19 points.
Women
Wyoming 73, Utah State 59
Logan, Utah – Paced by 20 points from sophomore Hanna Zavecz, the Cowgirls posted their sixth consecutive win.
Trailing 57-55 with 5:37 to play, Wyoming (8-1) finished the game on an 18-2 run as Utah State went almost four minutes without a basket. With free throws down the stretch, the Cowgirls held the Aggies (1-7) to only one more field goal the remainder of the way.
