Adams State’s Raymond Dunning, a sophomore from Nashville, Tenn., was selected the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference wrestler of the week after earning most outstanding wrestler honors at the 20-team Midwest Classic tournament in Indianapolis last weekend.
Dunning (13-5) is ranked No. 6 nationally in Division II at 133 pounds. He beat the top two ranked wrestlers in Indianapolis en route to winning his weight class.
No. 17 Western State beat visiting No. 9 Adams State in an RMAC dual match Thursday, 26-9. The Mountaineers’ Zach Lee scored the only pin, at 3:16 against the Grizzlies’ Scott Cleve at 157 pounds. Adams State’s Dunning won by decision over Marques Bravo at 133.
