NBC may have to rename its hit first-year comedy “My Name Is Earl and I Have Adult-Onset Chicken Pox.”

The show’s star, Jason Lee, was diagnosed with the virus last weekend, and production was shut down for several weeks to quarantine Lee. No other cast members or crew members have caught the illness, according to reports.

“Earl” creator Greg Garcia explained how Lee contracted the virus: “I saw him shake Charlie Sheen’s hand at the Golden Globes, and the next morning he woke up with bumps all over him, so it could be anything.”

Star magazine reports Vince Vaughn has moved into girlfriend Jennifer Aniston’s Beverly Hills bungalow. The ever-reliable Weekly News of the World – ahem – reports Vaughn has moved into Aniston’s Malibu digs.

A sex scene mysteriously disappeared from Katie Holmes’ comedy “Thank You for Smoking” during a screening Saturday at Sundance Film Festival. The 12-second tryst between Holmes and Aaron Eckhart was included in the Toronto Film Festival screening but was excised at Sundance.

“We were sitting there in shock,” the film’s writer/director Jason Reitman told the Los Angeles Times. “And I turned to other people who had worked on the film, and we were completely confused.”

Conspiracy theorists already are blaming Holmes’ fiancé, Tom Cruise. The Times reported the scene was accidentally removed when reels were spliced together in Los Angeles. The sex scene will be restored for its March 17 nationwide release.

Kate Moss will write her autobiography for Virgin mogul Richard Branson, a spokeswoman for Virgin confirmed to People magazine. British press reports claim Moss, 31, will receive $1.8 million as the supermodel plans to set the record straight on her current drug problems and her relationship with her former boyfriend, rocker Pete Doherty. The book is expected to be written by September.

Princess Caroline, who recently celebrated her 49th birthday, is pregnant, the New York Daily News reported. The princess of Monaco has four children, one with current husband Prince Ernst-August of Hanover.

Meg Ryan has adopted a baby girl from China, according to Us Weekly and the New York Daily News. Ryan picked up her daughter, believed to be less than a year old, from the U.S. consulate this week after an eight-day stay in China. Ryan shares custody of 13-year-old son Jack with her ex-husband, Dennis Quaid.

Brooke Shields says coming baby will be her second girl

Brooke Shields told People magazine the baby she expects in May, her second child, will be a girl. Shields and her husband, TV writer-producer Chris Henchy, also have a 2-year-old daughter, Rowan.
