Freshman running back J.R. Moore has been dismissed from the Wyoming football team for an undisclosed violation of team rules, coach Joe Glenn announced Monday.
Moore, from Midwest City, Okla., played in nine games for the Cowboys last season. He rushed 21 times for 55 yards and one touchdown.
Glenn refused further comment on the dismissal. A year ago when Moore signed to play at Wyoming, Glenn touted the running back.
“He’s a big feather in our hat,” Glenn said at the time.
Moore rushed for 1,800 yards in his senior year of high school.
