On the other hand, when speaking of Prince Charles’ new wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, Lagerfeld said: “The public does not know who Camilla is. She is the life of the party! Meredith Vieira, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” is the first choice at NBC to replace Katie Couric if she leaves the “The Today Show,” according to gossip website TMZ.com.
NBC insiders said there’s a 70 percent chance Couric will accept the news anchor spot at CBS. Vieira, who also hosts the syndicated game show, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” is a former CBS correspondent at “60 Minutes.”
Is Madonna’s marriage to Guy Ritchie in trouble? The Daily Mirror reports record producer Stuart Price, 28, and Madonna, 47, “have developed a special working relationship,” a friend of the singer said. Price oversaw Madonna’s recently released CD, “Confessions on a Dance Floor.”
Meanwhile, Warner Records PR guru Liz Rosenberg, who has worked with Madonna in the past, told the New York Post’s Liz Smith: “Oh, come on. (Price and Madonna) are like brother and sister.”
Trying to avoid another confrontation with the conservative American Family Association, NBC denies Britney Spears’ upcoming appearance on “Will & Grace” is mocking Christians. An NBC PR release said Spears in an April 13 episode would portray a religious conservative TV personality who co-hosts a talk show with Sean Hayes’ character, including a cooking segment called “Cruci-fixin’s.”
AFA, a Tupelo, Miss.-based group, helped lobby for the cancellation of NBC’s “The Book of Daniel.” The network said the episode had not been written yet and the news release included “some erroneous information … the reference to ‘Cruci-fixin’s’ will not be in the show, and the story line will not contain a Christian characterization at all.”

Ashlee drunk in old video; new romance heating up
Ashlee Simpson admitted she was drunk when a man used a cellphone camera to record video of her at a Toronto McDonald’s a year ago. The video, released on the Internet last November, captured Simpson crawling on a counter.
Simpson also told MTV Europe she and new boyfriend, bandmate Braxton Olita, just finished a 10-day vacation together in Hawaii. “We’ve been really close for a while now, since he’s been in the band a few months,” she said.
