Where: Sunset in Puerto Vallarta at the rooftop bar of El Nido overlooking the bay and the Guadalupe Church. El Nido (“The Nest”) has one of the best sunset views in town. Located at Matamoros 520, it is a little tricky to find but well worth the effort.
Best meal: Tapas at Taberna San Pascual, downtown Puerto Vallarta at Corona 176. A small (only 6 tables) Spanish restaurant with great service. We enjoyed the spicy potatoes and the tortas. Reasonable prices too.
Best deal: Kayaking at $10 for an hour. You can rent all the equipment on the beach.
Best time to go: When it is snowing in Denver.
Best travel tip: Bring your binoculars and watch for the whales.
