Who would play you in a movie?
That’s just one question Vail Resorts and High Noon Entertainment are asking 20-somethings interested in appearing in a new reality show.
MTV will finance the pilot of a documentary-style show called “Vail Valley” that would chronicle the adventures of friends who live, work and play in the resort town. It will be shot in April.
MTV agreed to fund the pilot after viewing a three-minute trailer made this winter by Littleton-based High Noon. It featured several locals.
Vail and MTV already have a relationship. In January, MTV began broadcasting its new high-definition TV music channel, MHD, from a studio located atop Vail Mountain at 10,350 feet. The 24-hour channel will continue broadcasting from the Eagle’s Nest area through April.
MTV declined to comment.
Vail Resort views the MTV exposure as a great way to position its flagship mountain – where a daily lift ticket is selling for $81 this winter – as the hottest destination for the younger generation of skiers and snowboarders.
“The exposure is invaluable,” said spokeswoman Jennifer MacClure. “We see it as great opportunity to feature what we find amazing about our resort and the mountain lifestyle.”
High Noon currently produces shows such as “Unwrapped” for the Food Network and “My First Place” for HGTV.
Cast members must either be living in the Vail area or planning to move there by fall. Those interested in the show can apply online at www.vailcasting.com.
