Two arrests have been made in a homicide that occurred after 4 a.m. Saturday in Westminster, police said.
Anthony Zarate, 19, and Dorian Lovato, 15, are being held on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and attempted motor vehicle theft after a man was shot in his Chevy Tahoe.
Police believe Zarate and Lovato approached the car when it stopped at a westbound intersection near 72nd Avenue and Zuni Street. While pointing a handgun, the pair allegedly demanded that the three passengers get out.
When the driver refused and began to pull away, a shot was fired that hit him in the torso.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
