Skinny Dip, $7.99 per six-pack
It’s best not to sneak a peek when skinny dipping.
But buyers of New Belgium Brewing’s new Skinny Dip summer seasonal may want to check the label carefully. At first glance, it’s very similar to the brewer’s popular Fat Tire Ale.
But Skinny Dip, released this month and related to the brewer’s previous summer release, Loft, is nothing like Fat Tire. First, it’s only 110 calories and 4.2 alcohol (by volume), making it, says the brewer, “figure friendly.”
Though too caloric to be called “a light beer,” it is sprightly with a very slight citrus aftertaste, thanks to the use of Cascade hops and the addition of kafir lime leaf. Those put off by the hearty flavors of Fat Tire will love to expose themselves to Skinny Dip.
It’s expected to be available through July.|New Belgium Brewing Co., 500 Linden St., Fort Collins; 888-622-4044; newbelgium.com|
